On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be collected by our representative and transferred to the hotel to settle in. The hotel is located on the edge of Thamel, which is where many restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops are located. It is a great place to be. Our friendly staff is on hand to provide any advice or assistance you need. Depending on your time of arrival, you may have time to explore your surroundings and generally settle in. You will be briefed on the timings for tomorrow.
After breakfast, you will begin your Taste of Nepal tour. You will be met by your tour guide who will escort you on a tour of a number of agreed sights within the city. There is not enough time in a single day to fit all of the available sights so it is likely that you’ll fit 3 of them in, inclusive of a lunch stop. Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath (Bhuddist Stupa), Durbar Square, Patan, and Pashupatinath are all popular places to visit. The day will also give you a good feel for Kathmandu in general. You should finish the day by mid-afternoon allowing you more free time to explore Thamel with Breakfast & Lunch Service.
A potentially early start to get on the road to Pokhara along the Prithvi Highway. Sit back and taste life on the road as you experience how the Nepalese drive! There will be a comfort break en route. You will be driven to your 4* hotel in the center of Pokhara. You have plenty of time today to settle into your hotel and explore the town, which is literally a few minutes away with Breakfast Service.
This is generally a free day to allow you to discover Pokhara. As a suggestion, at an agreed time you can meet your guide and he will escort you in a rowing boat across the Phewa Lake to the World Peace Stupa (boat costs apply). The rest of the day is free with Breakfast Service.
Your guide will take you on a day walk somewhere locally. There are a number of options from driving out and trekking back into Pokhara, or maybe a loop, either short or long. A favorite is to drive up to where the paragliders take off high above the lake and walk down from there. Whatever is chosen, it is designed to get your walking legs on, a taste for what lies ahead in the next few days with Breakfast Service.
It takes about 90 mins to drive out to Birethani, and from there you will trek up to Ghandruk. Your guide will have some porter assistance to carry your main bags. It is undoubtedly an uphill trek and a steep one in places at that. But taken at a gentle pace, it is one that is easily achieved. The path is solid slate stone, handbuilt by the locals. Lunch will be en route somewhere. Ghandruk is one of the largest villages in the area and was built on the side of a hill, so it doesn’t matter which direction you go, you will walk either up or down! You will sleep in one of the numerous tea houses, and they will also supply your meals with Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Service.
It’s highly probable that you will be able to see Landruk from your tea house. It lies straight across the valley. It is the same valley that you now need to descend into and ascend out of the other side. The views up and down the valley are tremendous including Annapurna South, one of the top ten highest peaks in the world. Depending on progress, you may have lunch in Landruk on your arrival. Should the group decide, it is possible to extend this day and trek further to sleep in another village with Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Service.
This is another flexible day where night stops can vary. Once you leave Landruk, after a while, there is a long steep ascent after which it is pretty much downhill all the way to the finish line tomorrow. The latter half of this trek is more forested. The aim is to reach Pothana but again, it is possible to trek further with Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Service.
This is generally a downhill trek to where the transport will meet you for the transfer to Pokhara. You will stay in the same hotel. The transfer time is about 40 mins. Once in the hotel, it’s time to clean up and relax with Breakfast and Lunch Service.
A day dedicated to exactly how you want it to be with Breakfast Service.
